We are simple folk of complex pleasures; our desire to use wood, metal and thermionic valves to change the pressure of the air surrounding us plays heavily on our emotions, as does the change in pressure we bring about. But there are two more elements that add another layer to this experiment – the transistor and the microprocessor.
Of course, what I’m trying to say in my own pretentious, pseudo-enigmatic way is that we like to play guitar. And bass. Through an amplifier. And (as you’ve probably guessed from the address of this page, and the great big orange and black lettering above, which reads ‘GUITARANDBASSEFFECTS.COM) we also love to process said guitar and bass through various sound-shaping effects. Sorry about the drama.
Here you’ll find honest opinions regarding this subject; opinions that have not (yet) been bought by big musical instrument distributors. (Dear said distributors, please take note of the word ‘yet’ in brackets above. Just wanted to make sure…) We’ll be posting news, reviews, and anything we deem interesting in the world of stompboxes. Hope you enjoy it.
